Things to Do
Please see below some suggestions for things to do and places to visit during your stay:
Visit the historical centre of Paphos a UNESCO world heritage site. Paphos was the European Capital of Culture in 2017. Popular historical sites to visit include the Paphos Archaeological Park (near the harbour) with impressive floor frescoes, the Tombs of the Kings (on the main road out of Paphos on-route to Coral Bay) and the Medieval Castle of Paphos (on the harbour).
Visit Polis / Latchi, a 45 minute drive (via Peyia) over the hills to the west coast of Cyprus,
Visit Aphrodite’s water park beyond the Paphos harbour area, open from May to October
Hire mountain bikes or Quads to visit the Akamas peninsula with Lara turtle beach and Last Castle steak restaurant
Visit the Rock of Aphrodite, 40 mins by car along the motorway towards Limassol
Make a day trip to the Troodos mountains, 3 hours to the summit of Mount Olympus and visit mountain villages, or even a day trip to the capital Nicosia (2.5 hours)
Book one of the organised boat / sailing or off-road trips (see various booking shops in Coral Bay) - particularly good is Chris Andreou Safari Tours and rentals, offering really fun yellow 2man jeep trips, office opposite the Kikkos bar near the top end of the strip.
Visit one of the two beaches in Coral Bay! - the main tourist beach (Coral Bay beach) which has 2 beach bars or the quieter Corallia Bay beach, with a seafood restaurant and Corallia Beach Hotel with pool open to non-guests.
For a shopping fix try a visit to the excellent KINGS AVENUE MALL in Paphos, which can be reached on the bus from Coral Bay, the bus stop being 100 metres before you reach the Mall round the next corner (so get the driver to warn you when to get off the bus). The Mall has various shops including a large Zara store, Guess, Gant, Mango, Lacoste, Replay, Pull & Bear, etc. It also has a Cinema and lots of cafes / restaurants including TGI Fridays.
